Privacy Policy
Version 2026-08-23 · Effective 23 August 2026
This policy describes what New Horizon actually holds about you, who else handles it, and what is published where. It is written from how the site really works rather than from a template, so it can be checked against it. The section on what is published is the one most people want, and it says the same thing as the Terms of Membership on purpose.
Who we are, and what this covers
New Horizon Networking Group ("New Horizon", "we", "us") is operated by Araptus LLC, a Texas limited liability company. This policy covers the public website, the member dashboard, the member directory, our events, and the email we send you. It is part of the Terms of Membership.
It describes what we actually hold and where it actually goes. If you find something here that does not match what the site does, that is a bug in this document and we want to hear about it at kris@araptus.com.
What we collect
What you give us. Your name, email address, and up to two phone numbers. Your business details: company name, job title, industry, headline, biography, skills, the kind of work you are open to, who you are looking to meet, and your website and social links. A profile photo and a business logo, if you upload them. Your personal interests, if you choose to add them.
What the group generates. Your membership tier and approval status. Recommendations other members write about you, and any you write about them. Reviews you add to your own listing. Your registrations for events, and your attendance at meetings — which meeting, when, and whether you marked yourself present or the host marked you. Referrals and connections between members. Messages you send through the platform.
What we are told by others. When you pay, Stripe tells us that the payment succeeded, your subscription status, and a customer reference. We never see or store your card number.
What your browser tells us. IP address, browser and device details, and the pages you visit. For sign-in security we record a device fingerprint and remember devices you have used before, and we log failed sign-ins and suspicious requests.
What we ask for and do not keep. A Cloudflare Turnstile check on public forms, used once to decide whether a submission is human.
What is published, and what is not
This is the section most people want, and it says the same thing as the Terms of Membership deliberately. If the two ever disagree, tell us.
Published on the open web, and indexable by search engines: your name, business name, industry, job title, headline, and your business website. If you are a Featured member, your business page and the recommendations others have approved for you are published too.
Visible to members only: your email address and phone numbers, shown to Pro and Featured members inside the dashboard and never published on the public site. Your meeting attendance record, shown to you, to the organisers, and to Pro and Featured members.
Never published: your personal interests, which exist as a conversation starter inside the directory and are deliberately kept out of every public feed.
Never sold. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. An advertiser buying a placement on our site buys space, not people.
Why we use it
To run your membership: your account, your listing in the directory, your event tickets, and your subscription.
To run the meetings: the run sheet the host works from, and the attendance record behind it.
To keep the group curated and safe: reviewing applications, moderating recommendations before they appear, and blocking abuse.
To contact you: transactional email you cannot opt out of while you are a member — receipts, password resets, and notices about your account — and, separately, our newsletter, which you can leave at any time and which we never add you to without asking.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have a legal effect on you. One rule comes close and is worth naming: if we begin enforcing our quarterly attendance expectation, a free member who has not been at a meeting that quarter may stop appearing in the directory to other free members. That is reversible by attending, it is described in the Terms, and it is never a reason we would delete your account.
Who else handles it
We keep this list short on purpose, and it is complete as of the effective date above.
Supabase — our database and sign-in system. Everything above that we store is stored there.
Vercel — hosting. It processes the requests your browser makes and keeps operational logs.
Stripe — payments and subscriptions. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
SMTP2GO — delivers our email.
Cloudflare — the Turnstile check on public forms.
Each of these processes your information on our instructions in order to provide its service. We do not give any of them your data for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Your profile and membership records last as long as your membership, and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we can honour refunds, resolve disputes and keep our accounts straight.
Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, which is longer than your membership.
Security logs — failed sign-ins, blocked requests, remembered devices — are kept for a short period and then discarded.
Archiving a member is deliberately reversible: the account and its history are preserved and the member disappears from the directory. Deleting is not reversible, and we will tell you which one is happening.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send it to you in a portable form. Most of it you can change yourself from your profile, which is faster than asking us.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, the GDPR gives you these rights explicitly, along with the right to object to or restrict how we use your information and to withdraw consent you have given. If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know, to delete, and to opt out of the sale of personal information — we do not sell it.
Write to kris@araptus.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.
Two limits, stated plainly. Recommendations another member wrote about you are their words, not yours; we will remove them from public view on request but they belong to the person who wrote them. And we cannot delete records the law requires us to keep, such as payment history.
Security
Sign-in is protected by a password policy, and additional verification is required for organisers and administrators. We record the devices you sign in from so that an unfamiliar one can be challenged. Access to the database is restricted, and the parts of the site that publish member information use an explicit list of fields rather than publishing whatever a record happens to contain — so a new field is never published by accident.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If we discover a breach affecting your personal information we will tell you and the relevant authority without undue delay.
Children
New Horizon is a business networking group for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when what we do changes, and the version and effective date at the top will change with it. For a material change we will tell members by email rather than relying on you to re-read the page.
Because this policy describes a live system, it is reviewed whenever we add a way of collecting or publishing information — not on a calendar.
