Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about how New Horizon works: how to join, what membership costs, and what happens at a meeting.

Joining

How do I join?

Apply through the application form. Every application is read by a person before anyone is approved, which is what keeps the room worth being in. Once you are approved you can set up your profile and register for the next meeting.

Why is there an application at all?

The group is curated on purpose. A room where anyone can walk in fills up with people selling to each other. Reading every application keeps the mix of industries sensible and the referrals worth having.

Do I have to pay to join?

No. Free membership puts you in the room: attend meetings and appear in the member directory. Paid tiers add things you may not need on day one, so start free and upgrade if the group is working for you.

Can I visit before I commit?

Yes. Come to a meeting and see whether the room fits before you decide. Details of when and where we meet are on the site.

Membership and pricing

What do the paid tiers include?

Pro is $19 a month and opens up the full member directory, member to member messaging, and the ability to buy ad placements. Featured is $49 a month and adds a published profile page on the public site with a link back to your business, plus one standing ad slot.

What is the difference between Free and Pro?

Free gets you in the room and listed. Pro gets you the platform around it: full directory access, messaging other members directly, and the right to buy advertising. If you mostly come for the meetings, Free is enough.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time. Cancelling drops you back to Free membership rather than removing you from the group, so you keep your place in the room and your directory listing.

Meetings and referrals

How often does the group meet?

Weekly. The current time and venue are listed on the site and may change as the group grows.

What happens at a meeting?

One member presents, everyone gets a chance to introduce their business, and the rest is conversation and referrals. It runs to time so you can plan your day around it.

How do referrals work?

Members pass business to each other directly and log it in the platform, so the group can see who is contributing rather than relying on memory.

Can I present to the group?

Yes. Speaking slots are scheduled ahead of time. Tell an organiser what you want to cover and they will book you a week.
